Go Immediately to Cake Wrecks!

Oh, lordy!  Can you imagine this being your cake???  I think I spent 3 hours yesterday reading the Cake Wrecks blog.  It's hysterical just to look at the pictures sometimes.  Like this one.  Doesn't it look rabid?

I also spent a considerable amount of time looking at this:  http://www.vatican.va/various/cappelle/sistina_vr/index.html

It's the Sistine Chapel in its entirety.  It takes a while to load, but when it does you can turn 360 degrees and see every angle of the chapel and zoom in on every part of it. (click and hold mouse to move up, down, and side to side; use scroller to zoom) Michaelangelo, Botticelli, the whole shebang!  It's absolutely amazing.

Well , for my birthday (in March), with some of our tax return money, we bought a painting!  It's awesome!  It's painted by my painting teacher and I've admired it for quite some time.  Here it is:

(In Search of the Glass Slipper)

It's quite large, and I haven't yet figured out how we're going to hang it where I want it.  It's beautiful, though.  The colors are amazing.  Of course, now we could really use that money! Ha!  And on top of that, I bought this painting from Lisa Bebi with my birthday money.  How cute is it?
(Robot Angst)

Yes, I still get birthday money and I do feel that I might be too old for that - but I'm grateful for it nonetheless.  Usually, all our money goes to just living and to some things for Rexy.  Any extra is typically split between my and my DH's hobbies - but there's not usually much extra.  It felt nice to splurge for once.

That's all for now...
